A Review of the White Embroidery Machine

First of all you need to know that White is now owned by Husqvarna and it has a Viking No.1 motor and this makes sure that it is a reliable working machine. It may have the Viking No.1 motor, but the White comes at a fraction of the price. The one I am discussing here is the model 9800 and is this is a computerized machine.

You never have to worry about oiling it, this is never necessary.

You can program the machine to repeat anything, a certain stitch or stitches, a particular pattern, it will repeat buttonholes so they all come exactly the same with a choice of 5 different types.

This machine has something called a 'Sewing Advisor' which gives you suggestions and recommendations about the proper foot to use, needle size, tension, pressure and sewing speed for the fabric you are currently using.

You get 40 embroidery stitches including a tapered satin stitch, a monogram alphabet both in script and block form. Sewing on buttons is a doddle with this machine and you won't break your buttons with the White machine. It is possible to do free-motion embroidery or quilting. This function means you can also darn.

You can buy multiple feet from a Viking dealer. These feet just snap on, so easy it's never a big deal to change feet. There is a thread cutter which I can guarantee will stay sharp for years. The machine has its own carrying case. The weight is reasonable if you want to take it from place to place.

There are a few things that could be better on the White embroidery machine. Firstly the alphabet letters, lower case are not available. The table which is provided with the machine is not ideal, it is only as big as the footprint of the machine. The storage area for attachments and bobbins etc. is not good. If you have to move your table they all fall about and get mixed up.

There is another model that I would like to mention, the 4400 embroidery machine. This is another eminently affordable machine for anyone who wants to give machine embroidery a try. This is actually a dedicated embroidery machine with up to the minute features. You will get 100 built in designs and 10 alphabet fonts, and so much more. You can use memory cards in the slot provided or you can interact with the internet and get access to literally thousands of designs. The memory of this machine can hold up to 100 designs and a staggering 1,000,000 stitches. The sewing speed of this model is up to 600 stitches per minute while embroidering but you can adjust your speed through your computer. Your embroidering area is 110mm x 106mm. There are so many other functions that this machine performs that I cannot list here.

You might want to take a look at all the specifications if you were interested in buying a White embroidery machine for yourself or your family to enjoy for years to come.
